Your Ultimate Guide to

Siargao Island

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

Travelling to Isla Siargao

We suggest flying into đŸ“Sayak Airport in Del Carmen, which is a 30-40 minute drive from the central tourist hub of General Luna, where our wedding festivities will take place.

Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, and Sunlight Air offer regular direct flights to Siargao from major cities like Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Flights start at 5:30 am, operating at approximately 2 to 3-hour intervals until 5:00 PM. Each flight has a duration of 2 hours.

Siargao charges a tourism/environmental fee of Php30.00 upon arrival and departure at the Sayak airport, so please prepare cash in pesos ahead of time to facilitate a quicker entrance and exit.

From Airport to General Luna

Coordinate your airport transfers with your lodging. Private van pickups, typically around Php2,000.00, are available, with the cost varying based on your chosen accommodations. These vans can accommodate up to 10 people with luggage. Alternatively, public vans stationed outside the airport offer rides at Php300.00 per person, but they have a maximum capacity of 12-14 passengers each way.

For additional help in securing airport transfers contact Siargao Weddings at +63 960 221 4220.

Getting Around General Luna, Siargao

There are numerous ways to explore the island. For the adventurous, renting a scooter or bicycle is popular, with scooter rentals starting at Php350.00 per day, rates vary based on the rental duration.

Tricycles or tuktuks are readily available for short distances, costing Php20-50 (or more especially at night where rates could vary) per person per ride in and around General Luna. Choose the option that suits your preferences and the distance you need to cover in General Luna.

For those who prefer to drive, car rentals and tuktuk rentals are also available. See options below.

General Siargao Tips to Keep In Mind

Bring cash for the island. Not all places honor credit cards, and it is still largely cash-based. While there are ATMs and a few money changers on the island, they may be limited. Pro tip: Gcash is accepted in most establishments but mobile data signal can be spotty at times.

As our venue boasts lush gardens and a beachfront setting, we want you to fully enjoy the celebration without any unwanted guests. Please be prepared for bugs and mosquitoes by bringing along bug spray or any insect repellent. Your comfort is our priority, and we look forward to a bug-free and delightful experience together!

Plan to arrive at the domestic airport early. April is a busy travel month in the Philippines. Plan to arrive at the airport early, preferably two hours before your flight from Manila/Cebu/Clark to Siargao.

Siargao is still a developing island. Tap water is not safe for drinking. The island is mostly rural, with just one road that circles the whole island, and one strip with most of the resorts and restaurants. While there are some shops, bring your important needs: sunscreen (choices are limited on the island), specific products or meds you use daily, even hair dryers and hair straighteners for the ladies.
